The team at Mascot Engineering were engaged by Ward Civil to assist with a design, certification and manufacture of a 25-part gas & watertight access cover and frame system for SACL (Sydney Airport Corporation Limited).\u00a0 Designed to withstand the extreme heavy loads (900kN) of Airport use, the Mascot Multipart Cover was assembled locally in our new dedicated fabrication facility in Western Sydney\u2026 complete with four removable & structural galvanised steel beams to allow unrestricted access for authorised services.<\/p>\n
The Mascot Multipart is being installed as part of the Sydney Airport Northern Ponds Upgrade project which began in November 2019. \u00a0Due for completion by the end of the year, the project will allow for additional capacity for refuelling and servicing at Bays 83-85. \u00a0The custom multipart cover system was delivered with certified lifting jigs to ease installation and measured approximately 5220mm x 3425mm or 18sqm (clear opening).<\/p>\n
