<\/p>\nThe EN 1433 standard refers to a European Norm (EN) that specifically pertains to the performance requirements for Drainage Channels for vehicular and pedestrian areas. Drainage Channels are used for the collection and conveyance of surface water, typically found in areas such as roads, car parks, and other paved areas. The Standard is intended to ensure that the drainage systems are effective, durable, and safe for their intended use.<\/p>\n
The European Standard was approved by CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) on October 9, 2022.<\/p>\n
Members of the CEN include: Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
EN 1433 group classes in accordance with the EU Standard for Cast Iron Access Covers EN 142-2, however has specific provisions for drainage channels only, such as water tightness and flow capacity, marking and labelling, dimensional requirements and material requirements.<\/p>\n
The below chart outlines the load ratings for each group class as determined in EN 1433.<\/p>\n

Adhering to the EN 1433 Standard helps guarantee that Drainage Channels are capable of withstanding various environmental conditions and loads, ensuring the safety and longevity of the infrastructure. Compliance with the Standard is often a prerequisite for products used in construction projects within the European Union and other regions that recognise European standards.<\/p>\n
