The approval process involved multiple levels of testing, including local load tests to <a href=\"https:\/\/mascotengineering.com\/sg\/technical-support\/en-124-2\/\">EN124 F900 standards<\/a> conducted by an accredited Singapore testing facility, detailed material grade analyses, and the submission of numerous product samples. The contractor facilitated sample installations in Singapore for on-site inspections by authorities and other stakeholders to ensure practical installation and performance.<\/p>\n<p>Mascot Engineering supplied a range of gas\/airtight and watertight infill inspection covers, including single, two-part, and three-part cover assemblies to meet the project\u2019s diverse needs. These access covers offer exceptional sealing performance critical for airside environments.<\/p>\n<p>The approval for use of Mascot\u2019s gastight access covers is particularly significant, as the Singapore market previously had access to only one supplier. Mascot\u2019s gastight covers are now the approved alternative, with proven supply capability in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Australia leads the world in gas-tight manhole cover standards with AS3996 being the only international standard that includes rigorous testing criteria and methodology for gas-tightness and water-tightness. While much of the world follows the European Standard EN124, AS3996\u2014updated in 2019\u2014continues to set the global benchmark for in-depth access cover testing.<\/p>\n<p>A key success factor for\u00a0<span class=\"markmrrdtjuqs\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Changi<\/span>\u00a0East was Mascot Engineering\u2019s innovative levelling bolt system, which played a significant role in achieving precise installation and long-term stability. In addition, thorough inspections ensured no foreign object debris (FOD) could be emitted from the products, safeguarding against potential damage to aircraft and airport operations.<\/p>\n<p>The project also involved developing new products tailored to the client\u2019s needs, including E600 grating with clear openings of 800mm, 1000mm, and 1500mm\u2014a challenge the Mascot Engineering team enthusiastically embraced. This close collaboration with the client, authorities, contractors, and installers was vital to meeting the demanding project requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Our logistics team was kept busy dispatching 20ft containers almost fortnightly for over 12 months.
